Cumbria and the Scottish Borders are famed for their produce, and in The Sportsman’s Restaurant at March Bank we try to use as many local ingredients as possible.
We catch our salmon and trout in the nearby River Esk. We take the pick of the spoils from the local game shoots, and only choose the finest seasonable vegetables from the surrounding lands.
When you combine these ingredients with the incredible culinary skills of our head chef, Richard Moore, you’re presented with a selection of mouth-watering dishes that are crammed full of flavour.
What makes our meals even more satisfying is the price. Over the past 20 years we’ve built up strong links with the suppliers in our local community, and thanks to this we’re able to pass on our savings to you.
With dishes ranging from just £3.20 to £13.95, you can enjoy a delicious three course meal for less. There’s a specials board to choose from, and we also offer a ‘Taste of the Borders’ five course meal for £29.95.
We have two elegant dining rooms where we can cater for up to 45 people, as well as an extensive wine cellar. If you have any special dietary needs, let us know and we’ll be more than happy to tailor a dish just for you.

Sunday lunches served from 12pm – 2pm. Lunches served through the week for parties of six or more only. Evening meals served every night between 6pm – 8.45pm.
